What is philip leonetti?

Philip Leonetti, also known as "Crazy Phil", is a former mobster and underboss of the Philadelphia crime family. He was born on March 27, 1953, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was the nephew of former Philadelphia mob boss Nicodemo "Little Nicky" Scarfo.

Leonetti became involved in organized crime at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks of the Philadelphia crime family. He eventually became the underboss and was a key player in the violent and ruthless reign of the Scarfo crime family in the 1980s.

In 1989, Leonetti was arrested and later convicted on racketeering and murder charges. He agreed to cooperate with the government and became a key witness in several trials that led to the convictions of numerous high-ranking mobsters, including his own uncle, Little Nicky Scarfo. Leonetti's testimony helped dismantle the Scarfo crime family and significantly weaken organized crime in Philadelphia.

After his cooperation with the government, Leonetti was sentenced to 45 years in prison but was released in 1992 after serving only a few years. Since then, he has lived under witness protection and has written a book called "Mafia Prince: Inside America's Most Violent Crime Family and the Bloody Fall of La Cosa Nostra," which details his life of crime and his decision to turn against the mob.
